Results of Eligibility Testing at AZ BB:9:413 (ASM), Pima County, Arizona

Summary

On December 14, 2006, under contract with Outpost Development, SWCA Environmental Consultants (SWCA) completed the fieldwork component of National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) eligibility testing at AZ BB:9:413 (ASM). NRHP eligibility testing took place within the proposed Outpost Preserve residential development in unincorporated Pima County, Arizona. Testing efforts included complete surface artifact collection and excavation of 81 linear meters of archaeological test trenches. No subsurface cultural features or deposits were identified in the test trenches.

AZ BB:9:413 (ASM) was initially recorded during a pedestrian survey of the 6.13-acre parcel; at that time, it was determined that the surficial information gathered during site recording did not suffice for an NRHP eligibility recommendation (Hesse 2006a). Based on the results of the subsequent NRHP eligibility testing, SWCA recommends AZ BB:9:413 (ASM) to be ineligible for listing in the NRHP. SWCA recommends no additional archaeological fieldwork for the Outpost Preserve project.
