Peacekeeper Program Component Effect Report #8 Heating Distribution Lines

Summary

A cultural resources survey associated with the proposed Heating Distribution Lines (HDL) Component of the Peacekeeper Program at F.E. Warren Air Force Base (AFB), Wyoming, resulted in the discovery of ten previously unknown archeological sites; four of these sites occur in direct impact areas. The Air Force, in consultation with the Wyoming State Historic Preservation Officer (SHPO), has determined that two of the properties in direct impact areas (48-LA-71X and 48-LA-482) are eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) and that these sites will be adversely affected by ground disturbance necessitated by project construction. Adverse effects to these two properties will be mitigated through implementation of a program involving onsite data recovery and construction monitoring by qualified archeologists.
