Final Report: Archaeological Survey on the Lower Zuni River - 1984 Season
Summary
This report provides a substantive and administrative summary of the results of an intensive archaeological survey of about 9 square kilometers along the Zuni River in east-central Arizona that was conducted by the University of Arizona, Arizona State Museum. This survey was funded by a Survey and Planning Grant from the National Park Service administered by the Arizona State Historic Preservation Office and by matching funds provided by the University of Arizona. Because this final report for the grant must be completed in less than three weeks from the end of field work, the results reported must, of necessity, be regarded as preliminary.
The area inventoried included both deeded and Arizona State Trust lands. The survey was conducted entirely within the confines of the Hinkson Ranch, and permission for the survey was generously granted by Mrs. Everett Hinkson of St. Johns. The survey was conducted between July 8 and August 10, 1984.
