Archaeological Data Recovery of AZ N:4:110(ASM) at Grey Fox Ridge, Cottonwood, Yavapai County, Arizona
Summary
This document presents the results of archaeological data recovery investigations at Site AZ N:4:110(ASM) within the private development known as Grey Fox Ridge. EnviroSystems Management, Inc. conducted the work at the request of the property owner who needed to mitigate the adverse effects to the site resulting from land development. The site is approximately one-half mile northwest of downtown old Cottonwood and one-quarter mile southwest of the Verde River in Yavapai County, Arizona.
The report contains 10 chapters: (1) Introduction, (2) Research and Treatment Plan, (3) Feature Descriptions and Excavation Areas, (4) Ceramic Analysis, (5) Flaked Stone Analysis, (6) Ground Stone and Mineral Analyses, (7) Faunal Remains Analyses, (8) Botanical Analyses, (9) Osteological Analysis of Human Remains, and (10) Research Synthesis. Three appendices are also included: (A) Absolute Dating Results, (B) Obsidian Sourcing, and (C) Artifact Analysis Codes. Information regarding the specific location of reburied human remains and associated artifacts has been removed from this publicly available version of the report.
