Year: 2014

Summary

At the request of Leticia Vargas and Ed Checkley of the City of Phoenix Street Transportation Department, Archaeological Consulting Services, Ltd. (ACS) conducted archaeological monitoring of ground disturbing activities during the installation of two fire hydrants. Based on information provided by the City Archaeology Office (CAO), the fire hydrants are location within the boundaries of AZ T:8:7(PG)/AZ T:8:219(ASM), a Hohokam Late Sedentary/Classic period artifact scatter with possible structural rock alignments; therefore, archaeological monitoring of all construction-related ground disturbance within the site boundary was required. ACS’ archaeological monitoring of project construction activities took place between September 30 and October 9, 2013. No significant cultural resources were identified.
