Dye & Colleagues, Archaeologists, Inc., during ground disturbing activities associated with the Septic System Restoration project at Bellows Air Force Station, Hawai‘i, TMK: (1) 4–1–001:015. The ground disturbing activities that were monitored consisted of excavation for new septic tank systems at three locations, along with the removal of the existing cesspool systems. Archaeological monitoring of site investigation activities at two locations on Bellows Air Force Station was completed in December 1997. Site investigation excavations at the suspected location of a hazardous waste dump associated with the communications building revealed a paleosol associated with site 50-80-15-4851, a traditional Hawaiian cultural deposit that is significant for the information on history and prehistory that it has yielded and is likely to yield.
