Dye & Colleagues, Archaeologists, Inc. conducted archaeological monitoring for an undertaking at Bellows Air Force Station (BAFS) and Hickam Air Force Base (Hickam AFB), O'ahu. The undertaking is a restoration of septic systems at BAFS and Hickam AFB. The project reported on here was designed to identify historic properties exposed during the undertaking and to treat them appropriately.

Dye & Colleagues, Archaeologists, Inc. conducted archaeological monitoring of ground disturbing activities associated with a treatability study of a historic trash deposit in a natural sinkhole at Disposal Area 101, Sinkhole at Marine Corps Training Area Bellows, O‘ahu. The monitoring focused on the discovery and appropriate treatment of historic properties that would be affected by the activities associated with the undertaking. No historic properties were found.

The ground disturbing activities that were monitored consisted of excavation for new septic tank systems at three locations, along with the removal of the existing cesspool systems. A single human burial was inadvertently discovered at the BAFS-6 work site.
