Three pollen and two macrofloral samples from LA 15260, a Puebloan site dating to approximately AD 1200, were analyzed to assess the feasibility of continued paleobotanical research during excavation of the site. This pilot study was aimed at the recovery of economically important remains from cultural deposits. Archaeological salvage of site LA 48732, located approximately 5 miles northwest of Laguna Pueblo on I-40J resulted in the analysis of five macrofloral samples and one pollen sample. This Anasazi site was occupied during the Pueblo II period, and contains a pitstructure and several extramural features, including basin-shaped hearths and a roasting pit. The samples represent various features at this site that were sampled for the purpose of gathering subsistence data.
