Peacekeeper Program Component Effect Report #2 Stage Storage Area

Part of the F.E. Warren AFB Project Metadata project

Author(s): Norton Air Force Base

Year: 1984

Summary

A cultural resources survey of the Stage Storage Area (SSA) Component impact area resulted in the discovery of seven previously unknown archeological sites, a diffuse scatter of historic artifacts associated with Fort D.A. Russell/F.E. Warren Air Force Base, and four isolated artifacts. The Air Force, in consultation with the Wyoming State Historic Preservation Officer (SHPO), has determined that one of these properties (48-LA-473) is eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) and that this site will be adversely affected by ground disturbance caused by project construction. Resource documentation and protection will be used to minimize these effects. In addition, construction activities will be monitored by qualified archeologists.
