Author(s): Michael Stubing; Korri Turner; Erin Davis
Year: 2004
Summary
Carter & Burgess, Inc. (C&B) conducted a Class III, non collection cultural resources survey of approximately 1,346 acres of privately owned land within the proposed Merrill Ranch development, located northwest of Florence, Pinal County, Arizona (Figure 1). The survey was conducted at the request of Vanguard Properties as part of ongoing efforts to determine whether significant cultural resources exist within the Merrill Ranch development, prior to the proposed construction of a residential community. For the purposes of this investigation, the term "cultural resources" refers to prehistoric or historic archaeological sites or objects and potentially significant historic buildings or structures. Although not required for survey on private land, C&B holds a blanket Arizona Antiquities Act permit (2004-22bl) issued by the Arizona State Museum (ASM).
Report was revised in December 2004. Original report dated June 2004.
