The survey was conducted by the Southern Maryland Regional Center under the direction of Michael Smolek.     This resource is a scan of the original artifact catalogs for the 1981 St. Mary's River Valley Survey sites aboard the Naval Air Station Patuxent River's Webster Field Annex (known at the time by the acronym NESEA). The original catalogs were written in pencil by staff of the Southern Maryland Research Center and students of the 1981 St. Mary's City summer field school. Diagnostic artifacts are generally sketched. Many additions, notations, and corrections have been added since 1981.

    This project represents archaeological research at Bloodsworth Island, Dorchester County, Maryland. Site 18DO82, the c. 1840-1880 home of waterman William Parks, was one focus of the study.
